Indoor Navigation for Zurich Main Railway Station

infsoft GmbH has created the app "SBB - My Station" for Swiss federal railways (SBB). It helps passengers to find their way through multilevel Zurich main station with a size of approximately 175,000 squaremeters. The app uses more than 1000 beacons and sensor fusion to locate the position of the smartphone. It suggests the ideal way to the chosen platform and also considers barrier free routing. Passengers can find points of interest, for example restrooms, cash machines, shops and restaurants in an interactive map and guides passengers via turn-by-turn navigation. Special offers and further information about the station complete the application. Version 2.0 brings some new features, read our press information.

Range of Functions

On an interactive map visitors always have precise information about their surroundings. It shows up-to-date information, including all floors and POIs which can be selected as navigation target. That makes orientation a mere child’s play.

Customers can find all shops and restaurants with opening hours and descriptions on an interactive map and sorted by category.

The app includes important services such as travel agency, money exchange, lost items and travelling with handicap and you can directly contact them. Travellers can inform themselves about the location of parking spaces for cars and bikes and book rental bikes and cars.

The around me function shows you all restaurants and shops nearby. This way, you can quickly find a food stall bevor your train leaves.

Visitors can share their position with friends. Turn-by-turn navigation brings friends together.

On a walking tour the most interesting shops, restaurants and artwork can be explored.

Stores can participate in marketing campaigns and advertise their special offers in the app.

Multiple events make the station such a versatile place. The app offers travelers an overview of the latest and coming events and saves them in the calendar of the smartphone if desired.

The integrated smoope channel allows passengers to ask employees their questions about the station.

Overview of the arrivals and departures including delays and platform changes.
