infsoft Locator Nodes – RTLS Made Easy

Depending on your use case and on-site requirements, two different infsoft Locator Nodes are available that can be used in a tracking project.

infsoft Locator Node Dongle

The infsoft Locator Node Dongle uses Bluetooth Low Energy (Bluetooth 5) to locate people and assets. It also acts as a gateway for infrastructure components like infsoft Locator Beacons and E-Ink Display hardware. It communicates with the network via Wi-Fi. Any USB power supply, such as access points or monitors, can power the infsoft Locator Node Dongle. This ensures easy and simple installation and, as needed, expansion or redensification.

When compared to alternative solutions, the low installation and maintenance costs result in significant reductions in the total costs when using the infsoft Locator Node Dongle.

infsoft Locator Node 1400

While the infsoft Locator Node Dongle is limited to a network connection via WLAN, the infsoft Locator Node 1400 can be connected via Wi-Fi as well as Ethernet (PoE). Like the Locator Node Dongle, this wired gateway hardware enables the location of Wi-Fi tags and beacons attached to objects or worn by people. In addition, it enables precise positioning of Bluetooth- or WLAN-enabled mobile devices.

The integration into the infsoft LocAware platform® enables a wide range of application scenarios. These include tracking solutions, analysis functionalities and process automation.

In order to determine the position of an asset or a person, the Locator Node 1400 collects the data it receives from a transmitter and forwards the information to the infsoft LocAware platform®. This is where the data is processed and the location of the transmitter is determined. Moreover, a link to systems from third-party providers such as Cisco (CMX, DNA Spaces, MSE, Meraki), HP Aruba or Xirrus is possible.
