Recap: 2nd infsoft Community Day at ABB in Mannheim
On June 5, 2025, the second infsoft Community Day took place at our client ABB‘s site in Mannheim. The evening before, a relaxed get-together with BBQ at “The Hive” provided a fitting start to the event. In a casual setting, participants from a wide range of industries had the opportunity to exchange ideas and connect.

Despite the unpredictable weather, the evening at “The Hive” was a true highlight. A hearty smoker BBQ with a buffet and a wide selection of drinks provided the perfect setting for engaging conversations and valuable networking opportunities with customers and partners from various industries.
The second infsoft Community Day: Hands-On Presentations and Valuable Insights
The official part of the Community Day continued the next day – once again with great success. Participants gained exciting insights, engaged in professional discussions, and explored inspiring use cases.
- Innovative Hardware Up Close
Ramona Kraus, CEO of infsoft, introduced a specially designed and 3D-printed hardware box created for the Community Day. It featured infsoft E-Ink displays, an infsoft Locator Node Dongle, an infsoft Locator Beacon, and an AI Occupancy Sensor with a mounting bracket. Using the dedicated infsoft app, participants could independently configure and customize the E-Ink displays.
- Keynote: Roadmap 2025
In his keynote, CEO Tobias Donaubauer presented the roadmap for 2025, focusing on new features of the LocAware One frontend app, innovative hardware components, and technological advancements in indoor positioning and IoT.
- IoT Governance from an IT Perspective
Dario Zadravec from Roche Diagnostics provided valuable insights into IoT governance from an IT perspective, offering practical recommendations for successfully integrating IoT solutions into existing corporate structures.
- Smart Campus at ABB
After lunch, Volker Heimbeck, Project Manager for Smart Campus at ABB, showcased various use cases from the implementation of the Smart Campus solution at the site. He then led participants on a tour of the campus, offering a firsthand experience of smart building technology – one of the day’s highlights. The full success story is available to read here.
- UX Meets New Work
The event concluded with an insightful talk by infsoft UX designer Andreas Kappelmeier, who demonstrated how thoughtful app design can simplify everyday office routines and support new ways of working.
Summary
The second infsoft Community Day at ABB in Mannheim was once again a great success. Participants took the opportunity to network, gain valuable insights, and gather fresh inspiration for their projects. We are already looking forward to seeing both familiar and new faces at the next event.
