In case of emergency (i.e. fire, emission of dangerous substances, terrorist threat) the plant management wants to determine the number and position of people still in the building in order to be able to evacuate them. There are assembly points where the number of people still missing should be determined. The system should only be active in case of emergency; it is not desired to track employees constantly. Solution infsoft sets up a system which can display the positions of every person in a map as soon as it is activated in case of emergency. The position can be determined with an accuracy of 3-5 meters or area specific. A back channel to contact endangered persons can be implemented optionally. As soon as an employee or visitor reaches one of the assembly points, he or she is automatically classified as “safe”. Technical implementation infsoft Locator Nodes are installed in the whole building, especially at entrances, departure gates and assembly points. Every person who enters the area is equipped with a beacon – either in the safety helmet or integrated into the ISO card. The beacons send out signals (ID, RSSI, timestamp) which are received by the Locator Nodes and transferred to the infsoft LocAware platform® where the position is calculated.
