Temperature Sensor
Temperature is probably the most frequently measured environmental variable. Temperature sensors – devices used to measure the amount of heat energy that allows to detect a physical change in temperature – can be used in a wide range of applications. They have found their way into manufacturing processes, agriculture, room automation and healthcare, among other industries. The sensors can measure the temperature of solids or liquids and are available in different options, e.g. as a stand-alone device or a built-in element in a BLE beacon (for asset condition monitoring).
Use Cases for Condition Monitoring using Temperature Sensors
Sensing temperature can be a beneficial addition to indoor positioning systems. Here are some examples:
In manufacturing processes, many machines require a specific environmental temperature, as well as device temperature. Using temperature sensors ensures that the production process runs optimally.
