In 2018, RTLS solutions – positioning systems that pinpoint the location of an object or person indoors and outdoors – have continued to thrive.

Some of the prominent trends that this year was witnessing include the emergence of new applications and unexplored industries and the further development of hybrid RTLS solutions. These trends are reflected in our year-end review.

POWERFUL HARDWARE

We have redesigned our modular allrounder for indoor positioning and the centerpiece of many of our implementations, the infsoft Locator Node. In addition, we were able to present you with further new additions to our collection of hardware products: We have introduced infsoft 360° Antennas to improve accuracy for server-based positioning using 2.4 GHz devices and infsoft Sensor Tags to enable the implementation of condition monitoring systems.

NEW SOFTWARE TOOLS

infsoft also introduced new powerful software tools. infsoft Sensors visualizes condition capturing sensor devices on a map and enables real-time monitoring of status information (light, temperature, pressure, humidity, CO2, infrared, ultrasound, etc.). The infsoft Workflow Management enables the active planning, control and logging of work-sharing processes within RTLS (Real-Time Locating System) projects. infsoft Machine Learning is a visual tool that allows creating user-defined machine learning models, train them within a very short time and use them in a wide variety of applications. The powerful environment processes position and/or sensor data and uses self-optimizing algorithms that can learn from experience.

PROJECTS & PARTNERSHIPS

In 2018, infsoft launched a new developer hub, which is the new home for the infsoft developer community. Here, people are given access to the full range of functions of the infsoft LocAware platform® in order to be able to test their ideas. The hub provides API explorer capabilities, code samples and comprehensive guides and documentation.

This year, infsoft also started new promising partnerships. We are now included in the Microsoft and NavVis partner network. Also, IT service provider Scaltel and medical technology company Siemens Healthineers are incorporating our solutions into their product portfolios.

Once again, we have initiated and put into practice numerous projects across different countries and industries – a bed management solution with Stiegelmeyer (which was presented at the world’s largest medical technology trade fair MEDICA in Düsseldorf), asset tracking systems with Kendrion, Audi, Porsche and Toyota Singapore, a maintenance app with Bosch, a machine learning solution with Volkswagen, a navigation solution with Pratt & Whitney and worldwide solutions for office space utilization analysis with Roche, just to name a few.

Not only did we see improvements in our business, we also had some exciting updates from our infsoft team. We were thrilled to welcome new employees as well as to celebrate the start of our training program and first trainee.

Next year, we want to pick up where we left off and continue to enable real-time visibility and rich data analytics in various industries. We can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store. Subscribe to our newsletter to stay informed about new developments and projects.
